We’ve finally had our first snow for the winter. And with it our first snow day. One particular girl in our ranks was thrilled when she woke up to see snow. And lots of it. The first words out of her mouth to me were, “there’s snow outside.”
By 9:30 in the morning. They. Just. Couldn’t. Take. It. Anymore. We had to go outside. I bundled us all up. And out we went. A mother has to make sacrifices.
The time for snow angels had finally come. She could hardly stand the excitement. I know her shows are on backwards. They’re also about 3 sizes too big. Don’t judge.
They were a little disappointed they couldn’t build a snowman. But they occupied themselves with legal forms of fighting, a snow tasting and otherwise just laying around.
She was having a grand time with snow. That was until her gloves fell off and then she tried to crawl around. Then it was no longer fun. She. Was. Ticked. Off. And if she couldn’t have fun, well, party’s over folks.
When dad came home early the kids were thrilled to tell their dad that there was snow outside. Just in case he was misinformed. We had another go at playing outside. Until, at least, someone else got snow in her gloves and, well, party’s over folks.
Then we came inside and drank hot chocolate. My personal favorite part of snow.

Now that's my kind of snow fun.....the hot chocolate part. And the watching part. And the behind the camera part.
