One of those days.
After dealing with a certain tummy issue for quite some time with LM we were referred to a pediatric GI and today was that day. Oh and, FYI, the doctor we went to see is 2 hours away. Long day.
To make a long story a little not so long the doctor went through a couple of things of what could be causing her these issues. Celiac, an absorption issue (like lactose intolerance, or some other -toses), movement issue (there was a technically name for this but it's long gone from my brain, basically food is moved along the gut too quickly not allowing it to fully digest) or toddler's diarrhea (basically unexplained and they grow out of it). With many of these issues the only way to confirm or rule them out is to do a scoop an d take biopsies. At first he wasn't leaning the direction nog he biopsy, because it is invasive and she will have to be under anesethia. What he was leaning toward is trying some changes in her diet.
I wasn't too thrilled with this direction as this issue has been so ongoing and we've tried a number of different things in a number of different combinations. When I shared my feelings sad spoke with him about her time in school and the number of times I have to take her out of school because of these issues he quickly changed his thought process. So grateful for that.
So the not so long story is that she will be going in for a scope and a partial colonoscopy. And we are hoping and praying we'll get some answers.
