Remembering 2011

Taking a minute or an hour or three to look back on 2011.

Remembering the fun. And the not so fun.

Remembering it all. It’s what 2011 was all about.

January:

The Boy turned 7. Starting off our year of odds.

We had snow, snow and more snow

The Boy participated in his first pinewood derby

Celebrated Kansas turning 150

Took lots of pictures

 

February:

Little Miss finally decided to make two legs her primary mode of transportation

Little Miss got glasses

Had a little sickness

Took lots of pictures

 

March:

We packed up our house

Little Miss had her first set of tubes

David went to Boston

We took turns having the flu

We said goodbye to our first home in Kansas

The Boy received his Tiger scout award

Took lots of pictures

 

April:

We said hello to a  new home

The Boy had another set of tubes and hearing tests

Had visitors. Susu, Papa, Uncle Justin, Aunt Ashley, Teigen and Baby Chase

Started unpacking

Started painting

Took lots of pictures

 

May:

I created Mother’s day outfits for our Mother’s Day photo shoot

Miss Thing took a visit to the hospital to take care of her dark side

Finished off another year of school

Miss Thing turned 5

On our way to visit friends we stopped and had Chicken & Waffles

Took lots of pictures

 

June:

We ate a lot of popsicles

Started reading books for the summer reading program at the library

Played a lot of basketball

Miss Thing took a stab at swimming lessons

We saw a few free movies at the movie theater

Had a lots of conversations

Took lots of pictures

 

July:

Little Miss turned 3

We had Fourth of July at home completely with a visit to the parade and fireworks on our driveway

The Boy got his first pair of hearing aids

Air conditioner went out

Celebrated 9 years of wedded bliss

Read more books for the summer reading program at the library

Saw more free movies at the movie theater

Took lots of pictures

 

August:

Took a trip to Utah

Visited in Bear Lake to celebrate 60 years of one fabulous dad

Visited in Salt Lake City to welcome home one fantastic missionary

In that one week we saw every member of both our immediate families. Totally awesome.

Visited a few cemeteries and found lots of people.

Sent 3, count them three, little kidlets off to school

Threw a little party for myself for surviving the summer

Got the air conditioner fixed

Took lots of pictures

 

September:

Welcomed a new little member to our little family

The Boy played flag football

We settled into our new school time routine

Had a hummingbird get stuck in the garage

David turned the big 3-5

A few things started falling apart. The dryer, the cars, the lawn mower. It was so cool. Took lots of pictures

 

October:

Blogged for the entire month

Went to the Renaissance Festival in Kansas City

The Boy received his second pair of brand new hearing aids

Went on two field trips. One with Miss Thing’s class and the other with Little Miss’

Carved a pumpkin

Participated in our first Step Up for Down Syndrome walk. A new experience that stretched me in many ways.

Went to the Fall Festival at our favorite dairy

Took our annual Fall Tree Tour

Took lots of pictures

 

November:

Took time recovering from October

Took a weekend trip out to California for a birthday surprise, sans kids, it was fabulous

David took a trip to North Carolina

Made pumpkin puree from scratch

Took my own family pictures

Turned 31. Finishing off our odd year

Counted my blessings

Spent a night shopping with my mil on Black Friday

Took lots of pictures

 

December:

Blogged almost every day

Spent days decorating my house

Learned I didn’t have as many Christmas decorations as I thought I did

Had visitors for Christmas

Loved every minute of them, even if they came a day early and forgot to mention their travel plans to me

Baked and ate lots of Christmas goodies

Visited Santa

Went on an annual Christmas Lights Tour

Learned that Little Miss will require another set of tubes

Took lots of pictures

What a year! As we big in this new year its been fun to look and remember 2011.

I’m so looking forward to 2012.

It’s going to be a great year. I can feel it.
