Today is the last day of school. (Miss Thing’s was actually the other day but we’re pretending it’s today)
It’s so hard to believe that this school year has come to a close. So much has happened for us this year. And yet I’m so glad that it is all behind us. I can’t help but think there is so much more I could have done. But I also know that looking behind doesn’t help me in the present. I have to learn from it and drive on. So that’s what I’m going to do. Next year will be so much better. I just know it.
Not even thinking I snapped a few pictures of The Boy this morning. Then on the drive to school I remembered, that’s what I do. Take pictures on the first and last days of school. When we got home I snapped a few of Miss Thing (that’s how we’re pretending today is her last day). And now I’m so glad that I did.
Seeing them everyday I don’t realize how much we’ve grown.
Still a little sleepy eyed, if you ask me. Also glad we have the empty bowl. Proof that I do, in fact, feed him. All that aside, can you believe how much bigger he looks? Who knew!
Here’s the real kicker.
I almost have no words. The pose. The hugeness. She. Is. Just. So. Big. How did that happen? For example the skirt she is sporting on the first day of school is a size 5 and now looks like a mini-skirt so I had to remove it from her wardrobe.
Another bit of randomness? Last days of school are important to her. She was born five years ago on a last day of school, after school got out. Of course.

So I don't know if this will be a double comment because I left one and it disappeared much like the past school has...just disappeared. And with your children I might add. What once was small isn't anymore! Please tell them to STOP.
