Fourth of July Fun

For the fourth we decided to just hang out at the resort and not really go anywhere. For not going anywhere, though, we had quite a busy day. We went on walks, did some artwork, played at the playground, did a little golfing and somewhere in there I think we probably went swimming.
I made the girls skirts and The Boy a pair of shorts out of bandannas to wear for the red, white and blue holiday. I absolutely loved how they turned out, I even made the girls bows for their hair. I was trying not to go overboard but once I got going I just couldn't help myself!

I loved how the clips turned out.

Miss Thing is having attitude about something, I'm not sure what. Shocking as that may seem. I love the look on Little Miss's face, though.

For our artwork projects the resort had a number throughout the day. Our favorite was the bubble art. Here is David and Miss Thing's, how patriotic. All it was was a cup full of bubbles and food coloring. Then you blew bubbles in it with a straw and put your paper on top of the cup (which is over flowing with bubbles). I guess it is kind of hard to explain but it was fun and very easy.

This is what The Boy and I came up with. I did the bubble blowing and he did the color picking and then putting the paper on the bubbles. We make a good team.
Then we did some playing at the playground. I was really surprised Miss Thing was walking up this ladder thing all by herself. She is usually much more wary of these kinds of things, as opposed to The Boy anyway.

After lunch we decided to head out for some miniature golf. The resort had a little golf course. It wasn't kept up very well but it was perfect for my kids.
The Boy was all over it. He did so good. Sometimes dad helped him.
Other times he had it covered.
Until we came to this hole. This hole was a multi-level hole. We didn't realize it at first. He had hit the ball in the hold and we told him to get the ball so he goes over there then starts to look really confused. Then we figured out that it had gone down a pipe and come out someplace else. When we showed him where it was we had to stop the game for a while so he could really check things out. It took us a while but we finally got him to move on.

Miss Thing sort of played along some of the time. For the most part she was off in her own world. She really is my daughter.

It was fun to watch them play. All day really. We don't spend too many days going from kid play thing to kid play thing. It was a great day.
By the end of it though we were all quite tuckered out. We did got outside in search for some fireworks. We saw just a few before David and the kids walked right throw a huge mud puddle. We had to take everyone back to the condo to change their pajamas and wash their feet and shoes.
But we did hear a lot of fireworks going off so I decided that counts!
