Ten Ten Ten

I’ve been doing my blogging from my laptop this past week. It doesn’t get used much, the poor thing. It’s been kind of fun, though, since there are all sorts of old pictures on this little baby.

So since today is the tenth day of the tenth month in the two-thousand and tenth year I opened my picture folder and went to the tenth folder and found the tenth picture.

IMG_1626This picture makes me smile. Pictures do that.

We were on a family vacation, for the Fourth of July in 2009, in Branson, Missouri.  It was Sunday. We decided to take a drive. Just the five of us. We drove south to Arkansas. David knew that there was a cemetery down there somewhere that he wanted to find. So with our maps in hand off we drove. We didn’t take the “scenic route,” according to the map, but what I couldn’t believe was why the beautiful tree lined route we took wasn’t called scenic. It seemed like there were trees trees everywhere.

So back to the picture. Most of our time was spent off the major freeway so we drove through a bunch of small towns. This was in one of them. David slowed down so I could take a picture of the sign. We have a Granny so we thought she would love it. I’m pretty sure, though, that this is probably the first time she’s seen the picture of the Granny’s Kitchen sign. This one’s for you Granny!
