We live in the same town that David grew up in.
We live just a few blocks from his parents. Who live in the very house he grew up in.
A few blocks past them is the hospital that David was born in. Before he did all this growing up.
This town that we live in, that David grew up in, isn’t a huge town. So David knows a lot about it. He knows where almost everything is. He’s like my own personal Google map.
But he does have one nemesis that’s here. And it only come around at Christmas time. When the lights go up, to be more specific.
The nemesis is a house covered in Christmas lights. All in one color. Green. And it’s been the same as long as he can remember. You can see the green glow from blocks away. And there is something about that seriously makes his skin crawl.
The green lights are everywhere. In the windows. Covering the gazebo out back. All over the bushes. Everywhere.
And yet he can’t stay away from it. Each year we have to go and look at the green house. And voice his displeasure, of course.
Nemesis’s are strange that way.
