Brotherly Love

I felt like we needed to revisit the H2Oh room from the museum last week. It was such a lovely room. Such bright colors. And from a picture taking standpoint had excellent light.

The two big kids had got there first.

They were playing so nicely. It was lovely. Almost makes me want to have a water room like this at my house. Almost.

Then Little Missy showed up. She was quite thrilled with the subject matter. What is interesting about this particular picture is The Boy in the back. Doing exactly what the sign above him says to do. No one told him to go grab an apron. He did it on his own.

But it wasn't for him. He had one. It was for her.

Then he gave her some instructions. On what toys she could/should play with.

Then grabbed her hands and showed her how to play in the water.

Which, I think, needed no instruction.

Even so his actions with her got me thinking of another time. When he had rewarded himself for going to the bathroom by getting an M&M. While he was at it he went ahead and got one for his sister, Miss Thing, and then did his best to "sneak" it to her while she was on Time Out. All before heading back to his designated Time Out as well. I couldn't help but laugh. They were supposed to be in trouble, for destroying something I'm sure, but all I could do was laugh.

Then there was the applesauce incident from a week or so ago. Not so much of an incident maybe a phenomenon. He was helping himself to a bowl of applesauce sometime after dinner. What struck me was that he got one for his sister too. Without her seeing he was getting food. Without her asking for any. He just got it for her. To be nice. To share.

He has the ability, and excercises said ability, to torture and torment both of his sisters. And tortures and torments me in the process of all the torturing and tormenting. But sometimes the other stuff he does for them drives a mother to tears.
