So this little man has been home with us almost two weeks.
A little update on what we’ve learned about each other.
- He weighs 5 lbs. 5 oz. or in other words nothin’ point five
- The kids need reminders everyday that he isn’t a play thing
- He is scared of being outside in the dark (although he is improving)
- Monday mornings are hard for him. Two days of lots of people playing with him then all the sudden they’re gone
- He’s a puppy and he likes to chew. Fortunately he’s been distracted with acceptable chew things to stay off the furniture. Although he did just discover the carpet…
- He is finally brave enough to venture off into the rest of the dog run, as opposed to staying right by the door
- He seems to be fine walking up steps and in the door but doesn’t like to go the opposite direction
- He likes to pull Little Miss’s hair
- Little Miss has finally learned to not sit for too long when he’s around
- He is coming to expect and require a little sit on the lap and zonk out when kids go to bed
- He and Jefferson are finally allowed semi-supervised visits
- Jefferson can be a crotchety old man
- I’ve started calling Jefferson “Big Nose”
- He eats stuff off the floor. A welcome change from the picky Big Nose
- He sleeps through the night
- He is still just about the cutest thing ever
