For The Boy. Luck for me him they closed school. Just for his big day. David, fortunately, had a two hour delay at work so that left me time to wrap some presents. Presents I had planned to wrap while he was away from home, snug as a bug in school. The rest of the day was spent in our general crazy manor. As I was busily trying to ready things and treats for the party that evening. Eventually I got everything done. Iincluding shoveling the walkway in the very very cold. It reminded me of being in college. Not the shoveling, just the cold.
So let the party begin. After dinner we had cupcakes (which I may or may not discuss later) and presents. Fun for all. Except for Miss Thing. She was put off a number of times throughout the day with The Boy getting so much attention.
He is so good at blowing out candles. I really should hire him out. When Granny missed the shot he even did a "mock candle blowing." He's very accomidating.
Where there is The Boy there must also be ice cream. Instead of hauling us all out to the store in the frigid temperatures I opted to make my own. There are just some people who can eat ice cream no matter how far below zero it is outside. He would be one of those people.
But he was happy. When he's happy, I'm happy. He has that way.
After treats came presents. He had a nice system down. Unwrap.
Model.
Repeat.
Then read the cards.
The last present of the evening was the big one from us. Once his dad got it all out of the packaging then they had to "ready" it. Can you tell what it is?
He graciously let her have a turn. Interesting that ther facial expression didn't ever change with the 4 or 5 pictures I took.
And then he requested demanded Granny have a go. And well when The Boy demands, well, not many can resist.
We put Little Miss in charge of clean up.
In all the birthday insanity her SuSu did not forget her. All day long I kept hearing, "when's my birthday?" "what about me?" etc. Such a hard life she has. Only one birthday a year.
Even with all the cold outside we still had a fun day, inside. Growing up I always loved having my birthday, no big secret, now I'm ready to stay the age I am and stop getting older. But I love having that special day for each of my children to enjoy. I love having a day where I remember all the reasons they bring me so much joy.
Happy Birthday Boy!
Be patient

Looks like fun was had by all. The pictures are great.
He looks like he had heaps of fun! We have a similar large gun- and after a month I am sick of collecting the bullets off the floor so Luke doesn't eat them ;)So much fun though.
Such birthday fun. Great pictures of all.
Love that smile:) Happy, happy, happy birthday:)
How fun! Looks like a great party!! As far as 'Miss thing'....I seem to recall someone having the need to celebrate her birthday every day of her birthday month. Well....that's what Justin has told me. Hmmmm.......so where does 'miss thing' get that from????? lol.
