We went to Dallas which I'm not for certain but I doubt that qualifies as "deep in the heart of Texas."
We had a great time visiting some very special friends and having a break from reality. David, I hope, got his Axis & Allies "fix." For the time being anyway.
I realized when I got home that I only took pictures of their almost 2-year-old daughter. She is absolutely adorable and I'm not so sure that I got enough of her. If I had room I might of brought her home with us! But I'm sad now that I don't have anything to show for the other 4 members of their family.

Here is a run-down of our quick trip. We went swimming a few times, played in the park a bit, visited The Dallas Arboretum (more on that later), took a drive at took in a change of scenery, played a lot of Wii and ate really good food. The last couple of hours of the trip the moms were able to get away and do a little shopping. Our goal for next time is to not save that for the end and to actually do some shopping for ourselves in stead of our kids. Why do mom's have such a hard time shopping for themselves?
We all played hard all weekend and slept good. The kids slept in longer than they do at home, which made me sad this morning when The Boy was up at 6:30 or so.

In our drives we saw this guy running across the road. It's a road runner! Or at least we think it is. He was kind enough to pose for a quick shot.

Okay so maybe we didn't go swimming. When we got to the pool the water was a bit cool for my liking. I just got in to my shins, or so. Just enough to stand guard so kids didn't go in the deeper end. The kids swam and got wet and had fun, so that's what matters. Right?

Little Miss also got some tastes of her first ice cream. I think the pictures describe it well.

Thank you to the Borjas Family! We can't wait to do it again.

So, my sister lives just north of Dallas...and I love it there. She takes us to this consignment store there for the kids that is my favorite place to shop. Next time you go there you have to visit this place. There was also this outlet mall that was huge and amazing to shop for self, kids and hubby...oh I want to go back, next year! I am glad you had fun, maybe next time you can stay a little longer!
Sounds like you had a great time together! I love those kind of adventures.......heck I just love road trips what can I say!
Yeah for fun! I love that last picture.
