Hiatus can be defined as: an interruption, break or pause; a vacation, break from work.
Considering my job goes wherever I go, or I guess you could say I travel with my job, my hiatus becomes only "semi." While I have had a break from life, the job didn't change.
I have spent the past two weeks home to Mom and Dad. My sister, Amy, joined me (her "job" in tow) so in total we had 6 kids, 2 dogs (sometimes 3) and 4 adults (sometimes 5). It was crazy and fun and sometimes crazy fun.
I also was able to connect with friends who I haven't seen in almost ten years. I hate to call them old friends, as I don't feel like I'm old enough to say that. They're my young friends, or friends from when I was young. It was fun to sit and talk and laugh together again. I learned from them that one of the elementary schools I went to was recently closed and demolished (slightly raining on my I'm-no-that-old parade). Sometimes I forget that while I'm changing so are other people and places. I hope that we will be able to reconnect again soon, and perhaps expand our numbers (one dear friend was missing, we missed you Holly!)
The whole adventure, while exhausting, was so refreshing. It was fun to take my kids places my parents took me when I was little (had the weather not been so wet, there would have been more of those places). It's strange that going to my parents house has now become a vacation.

More to come...

Fun! Ok, so which school is getting demolished?? That's nuts. I'm glad you were able to reconnect with old friends and visit some old places!
This is so sweet! Your kids are the cutest. I'm glad you got to go back and see everyone in Nor Cal. It was awesome to see picks of the group at lunch. I so wish I could have been there! And I'm sure your parents loved having two of their kids and 6 grandkids home with them for a little while! You're wondermom for traveling with 3!
Sounds like a fun trip! I wondered where you went. I've missed your posts, but I've been listening to your music every day as I've been organizing my office. Thanks for the great play list. :) Glad you're back.
